An alteration to the original scope of work as part of the Lyon County Highway Department’s new bridge shop project gained approval from Lyon County Commissioners Thursday morning.
Bruce Boettcher of BG Consultants presented a change order request totaling just over $6,619 for demolition and repair work as part of waterline work on a section of Prairie Street. According to Boettcher, the change order was needed as the waterline being worked on was originally marked in the incorrect location.
Commissioners approved a second change order to install new pipe bollards totaling $4,475.90 by a vote of 3-0. In other business, a request from Lyon County Court Administrator Ruth Wheeler and Judge Jeffry Larson to install a security door on the south end of the third-floor hallway totaling $18,446 also gained approval.
Commissioners also reviewed and approved the Lyon County Area Transportation Title VI complaint procedures and limited English proficiency plan presented by LCAT Director Shane Brunner. Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods and Seth Snyder were also granted approval to attend the MINK Conference in St. Joseph, Missouri September 12-13 with related travel expenses to be paid from the county Road and Bridge Fund.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its weekly meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
