No Coast Film Fest 5 launches Friday evening.
The festival brings short films from around the world to the Emporia Granada Theatre for three days of screenings. Over 70 short films are part of the event and nearly 30 directors are coming to Emporia for the festival.
The grand opening is Friday beginning shortly after 6 pm with almost a dozen films available for view. Saturday features several blocks of film catergories. The family-friendly block goes from 10 am to noon, followed by documentaries from 1-3 pm, comedies from 3-5, drama from 4:45 pm to 6 pm and the after-dark block — not for children – from 6:45-10 pm. Sunday’s activities involve a second block of dramas from 1-4 pm, followed by the awards ceremony.
The festival is free to attend. More information is available at nocoastfilmfest.com.
