Sentencing is coming Monday in an Emporia robbery case.
Lance Sutton’s hearing is at 11 am before Judge Jeff Larson. It follows a plea agreement reached in early July to single counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted aggravated robbery after an incident in late October 2020. Sutton is pleading guilty to conspiring with as many as three people to rob one person of marjuana and money.
Prosecutors have said this case is likely connected to a non-lethal shooting incident near Linn and Whildin and a home-invasion robbery at 9 South Rural on Oct. 28, 2020 that was actually processed earlier. Sutton is already serving over 20 years in prison for those incidents, with co-defendants Kenneth Hopkins receiving 29 months and Marcos Diaz still in the court process with the originally-charged case.
