There is apparently a lot of evidence available for Emporia Police officers investigating reported vandalism to city equipment downtown.
As many as four males allegedly damaged or destroyed 22 electric outlets on streetlight poles along Commercial Street, mainly south of Ninth. Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods says that’s an area with a lot of security cameras — and he says the suspects apparently didn’t help their own causes, either.
Business owners began submitting video to Main Street on Monday, but Schumann Electric has repaired the damage so all outlets are functioning normally.
