An Emporia man accused of leaving the scene of a fatality crash and then moving the body away from the scene is now set for a plea hearing this fall.
Angel Alvarado was charged after a crash at Sixth and Constitution in mid-December 2022. Alvarado allegedly left the scene of the wreck, which killed 50-year-old Osvaldo Laffita-Ramirez. Alvarado also allegedly loaded Laffita-Ramirez’s body in his vehicle, drove two blocks from the scene and left the area as officers began their investigation.
Alvarado will have a plea hearing Oct. 19 before Judge Jeff Larson. He is formally accused of leaving the scene of a fatality accident, criminal desecration, interference with law enforcement, methamphetamine possession and paraphernalia possession.
