Newman Regional Health’s longstanding partnership with Emporia Anesthesia Associates will continue for the near future following the hospital’s Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday.
According to incoming CEO Cathy Pimple, the board renewed the hospital’s contract with EAA with “full confidence.”
Full terms of the contract have not been divulged, however, Pimple says the partnership has been in place for “decades” and it is her hope it will continue as such for the foreseeable future.
According to the monthly financial report, the hospital saw a net loss of $30,700 for the month of July bringing the year-to-date net loss to $358,137. Pimple tells KVOE News the year-to-date total is still favorable to the budgeted net loss by $401,100 as well as the prior year by more than $1.8 million.
In other business, the board received regular reports on quality, workforce development and operations. One executive session was also held for peer review and risk management matters.
The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees will reconvene in September for its monthly meeting.
