Highways, airways and waterways will be busy this Labor Day holiday weekend.
Nationwide, AAA is expecting domestic bookings for flights, hotels, rental cars and cruises to be up four percent. International bookings could well be up 44 percent over last year.

If you’re leaving for the Labor Day weekend, Friday’s best travel time is before 11 am — but the worst travel time will be between 11 am and 9 pm. Saturday’s best travel time is after 6 pm, with the worst times between 10 am and 4 pm. Minimal travel impacts are expected Sunday. The best travel time Monday is after 7 pm. The worst time is between 10 am and 6 pm.
As the holiday weekend approaches, gas prices are holding stable around $3.70 a gallon locally, although they have dipped to $3.56 per gallon statewide. Kansas now has the 12th cheapest gas prices in the country.
