Repairs are done on one of two water main breaks affecting a west Emporia neighborhood.
The city says repairs ended at Ninth and Woodland shortly after 10 am, or about three hours after the water main break was first reported.
A break in the 900 block of Sunnyslope is still being fixed after it was reported just before 9:30 am.
Even with the water main repaired at Ninth and Woodland, residents near that intersection remain without water service:
*Ninth from Sunnyslope to Woodland.
*Sunnyslope from Ninth to 12th
9:40 am Thursday: Pair of water main breaks noted in west Emporia neighborhood
As work continues on one water main break in west Emporia, another has been reported nearby.
The city’s MyAlerts notification system now has water main breaks at Ninth and Woodland and in the 900 block of Sunnyslope. The break at Ninth and Woodland was noted just before 7 am, while the break on Sunnyslope was reported just before 9:30 am.
The water service outage zone currently includes:
*Woodland from Eighth to 12th
*Ninth from Prairie to Sunnyslope
*Sunnyslope from Ninth to 12th
Ninth is also closed from Sunnyslope to Woodland.

7:15 am Thursday: Water main break affecting west Emporia neighborhood
Emporia Public Works crews are on the site of the city’s latest water main break.
The city issued a MyAlert notice just before 7 am after a break at Ninth and Woodland. The outage zone currently includes:
*Woodland from Eighth to 12th
*Ninth from Prairie to Sunnyslope
*Sunnyslope from Ninth to 12th
Ninth is also closed from Sunnyslope to Woodland.
