After over a decade, Lyon County Extension 4H Agent Corinne Patterson has moved on to new pastures, literally.
Patterson’s tenure with extension concluded at the end of August. Patterson has moved on from extension to a full-time ranching position in Chase County, however, she did not offer full details on her new employer.
Patterson came to Lyon County Extension back in 2010 after several years as a prospect researcher with the Emporia State University Foundation. Patterson says she came to extension at a time when she was looking for something she was “passionate about.”
Since coming to extension, Patterson has been a well-recognized face with Lyon County 4H activities, especially during the annual Lyon County Fair. She tells KVOE News her role was challenging at times, but she certainly enjoyed that aspect.
While she will no longer be running activities, Patterson says she will still be active in 4H as her daughter continues to participate. A search is currently ongoing for Patterson’s replacement.
A farewell celebration will take place from 2 to 4 pm at the Lyon County Extension Office Oct. 2.
