Emporia’s annual CCLIP work zone is underway.
Early work started last week on the City Connecting Link Improvement Program with concrete work from Mechanic to the viaduct.
City Engineer Jim Ubert says more in-depth work — with more traffic adjustments — is coming soon a bit further to the east.
The tentative plan has work lasting through October, weather permitting. Drivers are asked to follow all traffic control as posted and use alternate routes if at all possible during the project.
