Power went offline for a significant number of Evergy customers in Emporia early Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson Courtney Lewis says over 1,900 customers on the east side of Emporia lost power between 1:10-3:10 am.
The exact outage location, coverage area and cause have not been announced.
Breakers were tripped at Emporia State University’s Schallenkamp Hall, and it took until after 8 am to fully reset those.
