Hazy conditions are already evident at ground level Wednesday morning due to grass fires elsewhere, and the haze will stay with us through much of Thursday.
Northerly winds Wednesday and Wednesday night are bringing in the haze from grass fires in the Pacific Northwest and Canada. The haze will continue even after a wind shift to the east and eventually southeast Thursday before dissipating after lunch.
Airnow.gov listed the air quality as unhealthy for sensitive groups from 3-8 am, downgrading the air quality to unhealthy for all residents as of 8 am.
The forecast calls for a slight chance of showers and storms early Friday morning. Better chances of storms are in the forecast Sunday through Monday.
