Early indications are the United Way of the Flint Hills’ annual fundraising campaign is off to a good start, and several upcoming events are designed to give the drive a boost.
Coming soon is Flush It Forward, as drive chair Lynn Cunningham explained Wednesday on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia:
Flush It Forward should begin by late September.
Next month, the United Way has partnered with Dynamic Discs to hold a special fundraising disc golf tournament at the Boyce Baumgardner Memorial Disc Golf Course in Cottonwood Falls on Oct. 7 as part of the Chase County Courthouse 150th anniversary celebration. Here’s United Way CEO Mickey Edwards:
Cost is $25. Registration is available at discgolfscene.com.
Also, the annual Small Business Blitz is set for the afternoon of Oct. 10. Teams of volunteers will visit local and area businesses to solicit funding and spread awareness of the United Way and its work.
The campaign funds the work of over 20 community partners in eight counties. More information about the United Way and the annual fundraising campaign is available online at unitedwayoftheflinthills.org or on the United Way’s social media channels.
