Random Acts of Patriotism is coming Monday to honor the anniversary of the worst terror attack on American soil.
Once again, residents from all over the area will gather on the Interstate 35 bridge at exit 160 outside Melvern to remember the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Longtime spokesperson Deb Fuller says it’s an atmosphere people need to experience.
Activities will go from sunrise to sunset. Rain is expected, but Fuller says this is a rain-or-shine event. Flags will be provided, although participants are asked to bring ponchos or other rain gear.
Sept. 11, 2001, is the day when nearly 3,000 people lost their lives after hijacked planes crashed into both World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon and a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
