Visitors to Red Rocks Historic Site took a trip back to 1919 Sunday afternoon for a chat with the one and only Sally Lindsay White.
Barbara Fowler donned the visage of White for “A Visit With Sallie White” where listeners had the opportunity to learn from and interact with Mrs. White in her longtime home. Speaking with KVOE News Sunday, Fowler, who has portrayed White on various occasions, says it was a great feeling to be inside of the White home for this performance.
Fowler says walking into the historic house made her feel as though she herself was returning home.
Fowler portrayed White in the year 1919, which she tells KVOE News was a very notable time period for the entire White family as well as Sallie herself.
While Sallie White may not in the spotlight as much as her husband she has often been referred to as his greatest supporter and source of inspiration. KVOE asked Fowler, under the guise of Sallie White, what it was like to be by William’s side throughout their lives.
She responded by saying William was a man who valued the thoughts of others.
Sunday’s presentation was the eighth program in a robust list of activities for Red Rocks over the past several months. For more information on the Red Rocks State Historic Site and other upcoming activities, find the Red Rocks State Historic Site on Facebook.
