Emporia State Athletics has found its new track & field Head Coach.
Seth Mischke will take over for the Hornets after spending last year as the head coach at Chadron State University in Nebraska. Coaching the throwers, five Eagles earned All-American honors while winning four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships last season. Mischke previously was the head coach at Black Hills State in South Dakota. There, he led the Yellow Jackets to two individual national championships with 18 athletes earning All-America honors. Mischke also spent time as head coach at St. Cloud State. Mischke competed in pole vault and decathlon at Minnesota.
Emporia State is set to host the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Welch Stadium in 2024 and 2026.
Mischke will be introduced in a press conference Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Sauder Alumni Center. The press conference will be carried live on 1400 AM & 96.9 FM KVOE.
