Labor Day holiday traffic enforcement trends were down across the board according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Over the holiday weekend, KHP reported 16 DUI arrests, down from 34 in 2022, 687 speeding citations, down from 796, 447 speed warnings, down from 645 and 58 seatbelt citations, down from 89, four seatbelt warnings, down from 12 in 2022. The only category that saw an increase from year-to-year was teen seatbelt citations which increased from six to seven between 2022 and 2023.
