The Emporia High boys soccer team got off to a strong start as it opened Centennial League play at Hayden on Tuesday afternoon.
Emporia High shut out the Wildcats, 6-0.
Brayden Sailer scored the Spartans’ first goal. Thiago Esquivel scored the Spartans’ second goal. Emporia High’s third goal was an own goal with a Hayden player heading the ball into the Spartans’ goal.
Kevin Magana scored back-to-back goals with one being on a penalty kick.
Corbin B’Hymer capped off the scoring for the Spartans.
Emporia High is now 3-4 on the season, 1-0 in Centennial League play. The Spartans travel to Valley Center for a non-conference match Thursday.
