LCAT is gearing up for a significant change to its weekend schedule.
As KVOE News has reported, Saturday’s route bus is changing to a demand bus effective this upcoming Saturday. Director Shane Brunner had an update on KVOE’s Morning Show this week.
This means both buses Saturday will be demand-based instead of on fixed routes. Transportation Director Janice Arb says the COVID-19 pandemic is what drove the shift in traffic pattern.
LCAT is testing another change at this time. Brunner says LCAT has just started testing a potential weekday demand route, which is merging the east and west routes into one route and opens the door for the possible demand bus at some point later. That test will end Sept. 22. LCAT is also asking residents to give their thoughts on how LCAT is serving them and possible changes, including times or route stops.
LCAT asks riders to reserve their demand spots 24 hours in advance. Residents can call 620-343-4207 or go to the LCAT Facebook page to reserve rides, submit survey answers or get questions answered.
