Emporia Police continue investigating a shooting incident from late August.
Capt. Lisa Hayes says the incident developed shortly before noon Aug. 30 in the eastern part of Emporia. A person reported a gun had gone off and one person was struck in the leg. Officers investigated and found two people had been shot, with both going to Newman Regional Health by private vehicle for non-life-threatening injuries.
Hayes says all involved are cooperating as the investigation continues. She also says no arrests have been made. Names are not being divulged at this time.
Investigations officers will send their results to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office for review once their work in this case is completed.
