One person was taken to Newman Regional Health after a crash northeast of Emporia before sunrise Friday.
The crash was noted shortly before 5 am at the intersection of Kansas Highway 99 and Burlingame Road. Lyon County Deputy Brandon Early says 64-year-old Matthew Lanzrath of Allen was driving a car southbound on K-99 when he missed a curve and went into a field east of the junction.
Lanzrath was taken by Lyon County EMS to Newman Regional Health for non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Local authorities and rescue crews are at the scene of a reported injury crash.
The wreck was reported at the junction of Kansas Highway 99 and Burlingame Road shortly before 5 am. Other details have not been confirmed.
