Three members of the Emporia High girls cross country team placed in the top 20 at the Baldwin Invitational Saturday.
Freshman Madison Evans led the Lady Spartans with a ninth-place finish (20:27.35). Senior Micah Sheffy-Harris finished 10th (20:31.96), while freshman Emma Beatty finished 12th (20:38.94).
As a team Emporia High finished fourth with 88 points finishing behind Baldwin, Shawnee Mission East and Free State.
Junior Daghyn True finished fifth in the boys race at 16:22.14. Gideon Lowery finished 21st with a time of 17:52.69. Emporia High did not field a full boys team to record a team score.
Emporia High is back in action next Saturday when it travels to Lawrence for the Rim Rock Classic.
