Emporians, it’s time to flush…
…as in Flush it Forward.
This is a brand-new fundraiser connected to the United Way of the Flint Hills’ annual campaign. CEO Mickey Edwards says this is an easy and fun event for the community.
Three painted toilets went out in local yards Friday to start the process. Participation costs are as follows:
*$25 to remove a toilet
*$30 to send a toilet to somebody else
*$45 to both remove a toilet and enroll in the Potty Protection Policy, thus avoiding a return of a toilet until next year’s fundraising campaign
*$50 to “give a swirly” — removing the toilet and sending your toilet to somebody else
*$75 for the “royal flush,” meaning toilet removal, toilet redistribution to somebody else and enrollment in the Potty Protection Policy
Edwards says United way “plumbers” have been clogged with demand since the fundraiser started.
