For the only time this season, the Emporia High gymnastics team hosted a home quad with Newton, Lawrence and Free State Tuesday night.
Emporia High honored its five seniors, Sara Chapman, Marley Mullen, Linley Mendenhall, Grace Isch and Laney Cooper with it being their only home competition.
The Lady Spartans finished third as a team with a score of 88.1 finishing behind Lawrence and Newton.
Cooper had a pair of third-place finishes, floor (8.7), and beam (8.2), while finishing fifth in vault (8.5). In the all-around competition, Cooper finished fifth with a score of 31.60.
Mendenhall finished fifth in floor with a score of 8.6.
Mullen finished sixth in vault with a score of 8.4.
Coach Angela Poderbarac says it was a solid night for the Lady Spartans.
Emporia High will travel to Olathe for its next meet next Wednesday.
