For the first time in three weeks, the Emporia High boys soccer team will have a home match.
Emporia High will play host to Topeka High on Thursday night.The Spartans have played their last six matches on the road after opening the season with three home matches.
Emporia High is coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Washburn Rural on Tuesday, where the Spartans had their chances according to coach Victor Ibarra. Even though it was a loss, Ibarra says the Spartans are confident heading into the second half of the season
Ibarra added Topeka High is another challenge ahead for the Spartans.
Junior Andrew Ruxton says he’s excited to be playing back at home.
Emporia High takes a 4-5 record and a 1-1 Centennial League mark into the 6:15 p.m. match at the EHS turf field.
Along with the Emporia High boys soccer team being in action, the Emporia High girls golf team heads to Wichita for the 9-hole Maize South Invitational to be played at Auburn Hills Golf Course.
