Lyon County’s new Human Resources Director has been announced.
Commission Chair Rollie Martin made the announcement during the commission’s weekly meeting Thursday morning.
Martin says Rumold will be a “good fit” for the county bringing many years of human resource experience to the position. Rumold replaces longtime HR Director Janice Huffman who resigned her position back in July.
County Public Relations Manager Vici Smith has filled the role on an interim basis since July. Thursday, Martin thanked Smith for taking on the extra responsibilities over the past two months.
Rumold will assume her new role beginning Tuesday.
In other business Thursday morning, commissioners approved a mutual aid agreement for Kansas Turnpike calls between Lyon, Chase and Butler County authorities and the Kansas Turnpike Authority presented by Lyon County Emergency Communications Center Director Roxanne Van Gundy.
Commissioners also held three executive sessions with no action taken. Commissioners will reconvene for their weekly meeting at 9 am next Thursday inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
