Fundraising to support Hunter McCoy will continue Friday night in Emporia.
A trivia night fundraiser will take place at the Del 5ive Event Center, 802 Graham Street, beginning at 7 pm. The event will include teams of up to eight people and costs $20 per person to take part.
Organizer Alicha Criger says she is excited for the event calling it a “fun and different” way to support a great cause.
Doors for the event will open at 6:30 pm. All proceeds will go to support the Hunter McCoy Medical Fund to help cover expenses for McCoy and his family following a UTV accident back in May. As a result of the accident, McCoy suffered critical head trauma and an aortic aneurysm along with other injuries.
After time spent at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, McCoy was transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebraska where he remains at this time. Criger tells KVOE News McCoy has shown great signs of improvement on a day-to-day basis.
Teams are welcome to bring their own food and drinks to the event. Those interested in participating in the trivia night can sign up at the door or pre-register by calling Criger at 620-343-0328.
