Chase County shutout Burlingame 46-0 on the Area Game of the Week Friday night.
The Bulldogs took the early lead 8-0 lead heading thanks to a 13-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Wyatt Griffin. The Bulldogs would score three more times on a 31-yard run by senior Brock Griffin and two touchdown passes from Wyatt Griffin the Luke Budke from 48 and 27-yards respectively to take a 30-0 lead into the half.
Brock Griffin would find the end zone twice in the third quarter from 15 and 41 yards to seal the win. Wyatt Griffin was 13 of 17 passing with one interception for 229 yards. He says they executed well from start to finish.
Chase County Head Coach Derick Budke says he’s proud of how his team has refocused and continuously improved following their week one loss to Frankfort.
Burlingame junior quarterback JD Tyson was 8 of 16 for 81 yards on the night.
With the win, Chase County begins district play 1-0 and improves to 3-1 on the season. Burlingame begins district play 0-1 and falls to 3-1 on the year.
