Emporia’s Lee Beran Recreation Center will be open Sunday after having to close due to water issues.
The facility at 313 West Fourth closed Friday afternoon after a break near a lift station in the center’s front lawn. A second break was confirmed on the water line leading to the building but not getting inside.
Repairs were finished Friday, but maintenance staffer Al Slappy spent Saturday making sure all aspects of the building were ready for Sunday’s reopening. Sunday hours are 10 am to 2 pm.
