Efforts to fund high-end animal care got a big boost from an event that’s become a community favorite.
Flint Hills Animal Advocates, long known as Friends of the Animal Shelter or FEAS, had its now-annual Spayghetti and No Balls fundraiser — and spokesperson Deb Ghere says it generated the most pre-orders the history has seen.
Ghere says the event name draws a lot of attention, but so does the need. Flint Hills Animal Advocates now works to vaccinate, spay and neuter pets on request, with a few colony exceptions, and also to start the process on high-end medical needs. Residents needing those kinds of animal services can message the Flint Hills Animal Advocates Facebook page.
The group is also getting ready for its fall microchip event at L&L Pets next month.
