Recognitions and highlights will lead the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education meeting this week.
Board members will recognize First United Methodist Church for its annual donation of school supplies benefiting all district schoolkids near the start of the meeting. They will also get a program highlight on the work of Flint Hills Learning Center inside Flinthills Mall.
District highlights, upcoming board calendar dates and the latest evaluation of Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder are all planned during the regular part of the meeting. The consent agenda, where several items can be handled with one vote, will include a concurrent enrollment memorandum of agreement between the district and Flint Hills Technical College, as well as several donations — Walnut PTO to Walnut Elementary, Above and Beyond Home Improvement to Emporia High Theatre and Steve Sauder to Emporia High Athletics.
Wednesday’s meeting starts at 6:30 pm at Mary Herbert Education Center.
