A busy weekend is ahead, including activities around the KVOE listening area.
WoodFest returns to Camp Wood YMCA — meaning meals, workshops and a lot of music. On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia earlier this month, Symphony in the Flint Hills Operations Manager and Donor Relations Manager Kelly Tastove says it’s a special event for a lot of reasons, including the atmosphere.
The headlining concert Saturday night will include Grammy Award-winning cellist Eugene Friesen, as well as two guests brand-new to WoodFest: fiddler Andy Reiner and mandolin player Ian Coury. Friesen will also have a final concert beginning at 10 am Sunday. Besides the music and art, residents can also enjoy horseback rides, archery, painting and other activities.
