Lyon County commissioners have development, zoning, budgets and equipment discussions ahead as part of their weekly action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners start with a request to purchase one cruiser for the Sheriff’s Office at a cost of over $42,000, following that item with the potential purchase of a better than $65,000 crack sealer for the Highway Department.
Development matters follow. Emporia Planning and Zoning Administrator Justin Givens will discuss the city’s push to annex property in Industrial Park IV just west of the city limits as well as near the Emporia Municipal Airport. Following those conversations, Lyon County Zoning staffers Sam Seeley and Michael Reed will report on the number of permits and other zoning projects “in progress.”
County Controller Dan Williams will also have a presentation on possibly publishing the amended 2023 multi-year budget. Two executive sessions are planned, one for non-elected personnel and one for legal matters.
The meeting is at 9 am Thursday at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
