If you have driven past the David Traylor Zoo recently, you have no doubt noticed there is a lot happening at the zoo’s education center.
That’s because renovation work is in full gear for the center according to Zoo Director Lisa Keith, a recent guest of KVOE’s Morning Show. Keith tells KVOE News there is a lot of work currently ongoing all at once within and without the building.
The zoo education center is just one of the several pieces included in the nearly $5 million Oasis Captial Campaign. Along with the updates to the education center, the campaign has also funded a new zoo entrance, kookaburra exhibited, renovated waterfowl space and much more.
The ongoing work comes as the zoo is gearing up for one of its largest annual events, Boo in the Zoo on October 31 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm. Keith says they still have plenty of room for local organizations that would like to be a part of the festivities.
