It’s another busy day for Emporia High Athletics. The Emporia High volleyball team will put its 14-game winning streak on the line in a best 3-out-of-5 match against Ottawa. Senior Taylor Cunningham says it is unique to play a best 3-out-of-5 match.
Emporia High will take a 17-1 record into the match that begins at 5 p.m. The Emporia High boys soccer team will travel to Manhattan. The Spartans have not played since last Tuesday against Washburn Rural. With last Thursday’s match against Topeka High postponed due to weather, senior Alex Mosiman says the Spartans are well-rested.
Emporia High takes a 4-5 record into the match and a 1-1 mark in Centennial League play. Also competing Thursday, the Emporia High girls golf team will get a preview of its regional course as it travel to Topeka for the Shawnee Heights Invitational that’ll be played at Lake Shawnee. And the Emporia High cross country teams are sending a mixed group of runners to Winfield.
