A Council Grove man has been arrested on suspicion of drug distribution, aggravated child endangerment and other counts after an alleged incident this week.
Council Grove Police Chief Shawn Wangerin says the incident came to light shortly after 9 pm Monday as Council Grove officers began getting information about possible drug distribution. Council Grove authorities obtained a search warrant for 956 K Avenue, about five miles north of Council Grove, and worked with Morris County deputies to set up a perimeter around the house.
As officers were doing surveillance, “multiple” gunshots were heard from the property — so the Junction City Special Response Team and a Junction City EMS team responded.
Nearly two hours after initial calls, officers arrested Jacob Hutchinson. He has since been charged with single counts of distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine, aggravated child endangerment and possessing drug paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 11.
