Two Hornets finished in the top 10 at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo on Friday. Jaime Diaz led the ESU cross country team with a 24:49.5 in the men’s 8K race and finished fourth while the Hornets placed fifth as a team. Henry Jones finished 15th. The women’s team was paced by Tayler Williams who ran 22:42.50 in the women’s 6K race to place 10th. The women’s team also finished 10th. Emporia State is back in action at the ESU Invitational next weekend at Jones Park in Emporia. The women’s 5K begins at 4:00 p.m. with the men’s 8K to follow.
