The Emporia State volleyball team fell in straight sets to Missouri Western 25-19, 25-14, 25-17 at White Auditorium in Emporia Saturday afternoon. Missouri Western tallied 37 kills against just 10 attack errors in the match and outhit the Lady Hornets .260-.068 as the Griffon defense forced 22 ESU attack errors. Sandora Sasaki paced the Lady Hornets with 14 kills on 48 swings, both team highs while setter Brailee Bogle registered 26 assists. Tasiah Nunnery led ESU with 12 digs.
Emporia State falls to 7-7, 1-5 in the MIAA while the Griffons improve to 11-4, 4-2 in the MIAA. Emporia State will try to end its five-match losing streak on the road at Central Oklahoma Friday. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
