A radical new fundraiser is now underway within Emporia.
Radical Life Core Community recently launched its inaugural Radical Champions Campaign which has tasked 15 community members to raise $1,000 each in support of the organization’s mission. Radical Life is an Emporia-based program dedicated to keeping children out of the foster care system by providing services and support to families struggling with poverty, addiction or instability to help keep their family whole.
Community Liason Sydney Farney tells KVOE News the idea for the Radical Champions Campaign was inspired by other local non-profits that have put on similar events in the past.
Radical Champion Jacquie Ambrose says baking has been a key aspect of her campaign. A stay-at-home mother, Ambrose says she was grateful for the opportunity to be out and more active within the community as a part of the campaign.
She says since taking on the responsibility, she has found herself looking for more ways to help benefit the organization and the community as a whole.
The campaign’s fundraising goal is $15,000 with the campaign continuing now through November 3. For information on participants or how you can contribute to the cause, find Radical Life on Facebook or visit RadicallifeEmporia.com.
