Expect a special alert on your cell phone Wednesday afternoon.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency and Federal Communications Commission are partnering for a national test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System around 1:20 pm Central time. Included in the test will be Wireless Emergency Alerts on mobile devices and an Emergency Alert System test over radio and TV channels.
Residents who don’t get a notification on their mobile devices are advised to contact their service provider.
The backup date is Oct. 11.
