Part of a rural Lyon County just west of Emporia is closed until further notice.
The Lyon County Highway Department has closed Road 170, also known as Old Old Highway 50, between Roads E-5 and F. The Highway Department says there are unspecified structural issues with a bridge east of E-5.
Drivers are reminded not to move or drive around barricades.
Separately, Burlington Northern Santa Fe is planning track crossing repairs west of Emporia later this month.
The Lyon County Highway Department says BNSF has reequested traffic control for its crossings on Roads F and G just west of Emporia, with work tentatively planned from Oct. 10-14.
Besides signal work, BNSF plans repairs to nearby signal equipment.
