Open enrollment begins soon for Medicare and Medicaid.
To get people ready for the open enrollment window, Newman Regional Health, Haag Pharmacy, Senior Health Insurance Counselors for Kansas, K-State Research and Extension and the Commission on Veterans Affairs have collaborated on a special town hall Tuesday evening. Newman Regional Health Director of Business Development Steven Bazan says the meeting features presentations on different things connected to standard Medicare or Medicare Advantage.
Senior Health Insurance Counselor for Kansas Alexis Rockers gets a lot of questions about the differences between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
Haag Pharmacy owner Amber Haag fields questions on how Medicare plans affect prescriptions.
The town hall goes from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building and is free to attend. Conversation points will include an introduction to the North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging, differences between standard Medicare and Medicare Advantage, impact of the different Medicare plans on pharmaceuticals, connections to VA medical care and patient stories.
Dinner from Bobby D’s Merchant Street Barbecue will be provided. RSVPs are requested by going online to newmanrh.org/medicare.
