For the second straight year, Beacon for Hope Suicide Prevention will be combining hope and horsepower this weekend.
The Hope With Horsepower Car Show will take place Saturday in Soden’s Grove beginning at 9 am with registration. Last year’s event saw an attendance well above the original goal of Beacon founder Melissa Owen who tells KVOE News she is expecting a similar trend this year.
All proceeds from the car show will go to veteran suicide prevention services within the local community. Owen says the cause and event are a perfect match as car restoration has traditionally been a popular form of self-care amongst veterans.
Hope With Horsepower will run until 2 pm with a trophy ceremony. Car owners can register in advance for $20 or $25 the day of.
The first 50 registered car owners will receive a swag bag. In addition to the vehicles on display, the event will also feature a series of raffle drawings and a 50/50 raffle.
