Periodic issues with the National Weather Service transmitter at Halls Summit are underway again.
The Weather Service says crews are in the field Tuesday afternoon to get a better sense of the issues, especially with severe weather possible west of Kansas Highway 177 by Tuesday night.
In the meantime, the Weather Service says the best backup transmitters are:
*WXK91 Topeka on Channel 4 or frequency 162.475 MHz
*WXL71 Abilene on Channel 6 or frequency 162.525 MHz
Issues at the transmitter have popped up several times already this year.
