The 2023 general election is now barely a month away, and KVOE will give you opportunities to learn more from the candidates running for Emporia offices.
KVOE’s Candidate Forums begin with panel discussions among the City Commission candidates:
*Oct. 10: Erren Harter, Becky Smith and Will Spencer
*Oct. 12: Travis Hitt and Jamie Sauder
The focus turns to the Emporia Board of Education later in the month.
*Oct. 19: Jeremy Dorsey, Grant Riles and Leslie Seeley
*Oct. 24: Linda Forbes, Christy Grant, Art Gutierrez and Sam Tovar

Meanwhile, the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Emporia League of Women Voters chapter have their own Candidate Forum at 6 pm Tuesday at the Flint Hills Technical College main campus, 3301 West 18th. Candidates for both Emporia City Commission and Emporia School Board will be on hand, with introductions followed by a Q&A session and closing statements.
Voter registration ends Oct. 17, with in-person advance voting to start the following day. The general election is Nov. 7.
