It appears the first frost of the season could well be here this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for all area counties from 3-9 am Saturday. Overnight lows at the Emporia Municipal Airport are projected at 37 degrees, but temperatures could fall as low as 44 in some outlying areas.
After a high of 82 Thursday, continuing a stretch of 80s and 90s dating back to last week, temperatures will be sharply cooler Friday with a high of 61. Breezy conditions are expected for much of the day and showers are possible through early afternoon. Saturday will have a high of 64, while Sunday will have a high of 78.
Rain chances return to the forecast Tuesday night, with showers and storms at least possible through Thursday.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
Separately, it appears work crews are making progress on issues plaguing the Halls Summit transmitter for weeks. The Weather Service says audio returned to the facility Thursday afternoon.
