Sacred Heart’s parish hall was busy inside and out for the 50th annual Mexican Supper on Friday.
Residents had a chance to have tacos, rice, chips and a dessert while helping the school PTO offset different needs for teachers and students. Lead organizer Megan Tajchman says the event’s longevity is rooted in the community approach.
Residents could dine in or use the drive-thru line. Besides the meal, the event also featured mariachi music and dancers.
Final fundraising totals are pending, but the event did well. The initial allotment was 1,500 tickets to sell, but well over 1,600 were actually sold. The tentative net is around $12,000.
