A man initially accused in Lyon County District Court of rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a child between ages 14 and 16 is receiving probation after accepting a special plea agreement on lesser charges.
Isaac Arron Lawrence received 18 months probation with an underlying prison term of 16 months at sentencing Friday. Lawrence’s sentence was for two counts of unlawful voluntary sexual relations after Lawrence reached an Alford plea deal, meaning he proclaims innocence but admits there is enough evidence to convict.
Lawrence was initially charged in December with counts of aggravated indecent liberties and rape after alleged illegal contact with a then-16-year-old just before Christmas 2021. He was also charged with furnishing alcohol to minors. Those charges were dropped.
