Junior outside hitter Sandora Sasaki has been named the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Sasaki averaged over five kills and four digs per set as the Lady Hornets split two matches last week. On Friday in a loss to #22 Central Oklahoma, Sasaki recorded the first 20 kill/20 dig match since 2014 for the Lady Hornets. She logged double-digit kills for the 16th consecutive time in ESU’s straight-sets win over Pittsburg State on Saturday. That tied a program record with Arica Shepard who registered 10 or more kills in the last 28 matches of the 2009 season. The 16 straight is a record for a Lady Hornet to open a career. ESU returns to action tonight in the Turnpike Tussle against Washburn. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
