Emporia home sales were flat between August and September — and down sharply from September 2022.
Sunflower Association of Realtors says there were 30 some sales in September, following 30 homes sold in August. September 2022 had 50.
Median sale prices increased year-over-year, from $155,000 to $182,000. And homes are still selling quickly — within six days of initial listing on average.
So far this year, there have been 310 home sales in the city limits, down from 362 last year and 392 two years ago.
Greater Lyon County had 28 homes sold, up slightly from August’s number of 25 but down from the 47 units sold in September 2022. Like Emporia, median sale prices were up — almost $40,000 from last year to $197,500. Homes were on the market an average of six days before selling.
Year-to-date, Lyon County has had 263 home sales. That’s down from 319 last year and 330 two years ago.
